About Us

Well, we're super rad. So rad, in fact, our site name has two purposes!
  1. It has metaphorical resonance! "Bones without soup" is kind of like framework without usable (or in this case, edible) substance. Like our writing.
  2. It's a Brandon Sanderson quote! Who doesn't love Brandon Sanderson? (Spoiler alert: If you don't, you probably won't like us.)

Our Methodology

We do what we want.

More seriously though, you can look at the top nav bar to get an idea of what we do. We review shows, movies, and books we watch/read (usually only ones we have feelings about); we muse on media we've been thinking about or ideas we've been stewing on; and we have some original creative writing that we'll sometimes also post.

We do like to hear from our readers, so always feel free to let us know what you're thinking or how you're feeling in the comments! Just keep it classy.

Michelle's Idiosyncrasies

I'm generally way more into TV shows than I am movies, mostly because I like the character exploration offered by long-form storytelling over the usually more punchy beats in movies.  I love character-driven stories in general though, or stories with strong emotional cores. Comedies are the exception there, and for those I just like a lot of dry humor and situational ridiculousness.

Melissa's Quirks

Basically, I'll read or watch anything if it can get me to care about the characters. It can be middle-grade or 1950s science fiction; it doesn't matter to me, as long as I'm emotionally invested.
